Methodology
How BriefFence scores a kickoff
BriefFence starts from a neutral baseline, then adjusts for the conditions that most often create unpaid churn or weak delivery starts in service work.
Inputs that raise confidence
- Clear outcomes and a defined project shape
- Approved or realistic budget signals
- One decision-maker or a small review group
- Assets, copy, references, or source materials already gathered
Inputs that raise risk
- Fuzzy goals and moving targets
- No budget signal or heavy cost pressure
- Rush timing combined with scattered assets
- High revision risk plus many reviewers
What the score means
- 78–100: clear enough to start, assuming your normal contract and deposit process is in place.
- 58–77: clarify before promising; the project may still be good, but the kickoff needs firmer edges.
- 0–57: high scope-creep risk; discovery, reframing, or stronger constraints should come first.
Important limit
BriefFence is a planning aid, not legal advice, financial advice, or a contract system. Always use your own proposal, deposit, contract, and professional judgment.
